Glasses on the run Newsletter #28
Hi,
I hope you are all well in the midst of the terrible heat waves currently going through the Northern Hemisphere. This is a short edition with mostly running shoe reviews or running shoe stories. I hope you enjoy.
What was interesting in the business of running
Starting with a short story of Salomon XT-6 as a running shoe, but I guess as a lifestyle / fashion one too.
Another pair of trail running shoes - a pretty thorough review of La Sportiva Jackal II.
And, as someone who have been running mostly with Saucony Kinvara on my daily runs for the last couple of years, I cannot miss the launch of Saucony Kinvara Pro - a carbon plate shoe for daily runs.
On a different topic, Brooks started a resell business in partnership with Trove. That will allow it to refurbish and resell used Brooks shoes in the US. In its official announcement Brooks says the programme will support its sustainability goals and improve accessibility to running. Indeed it's hard to argue that let's say a new $200 running shoe that needs to be replaced after 300 miles / 500 km is either sustainable or accessible. It will be interesting to see to what extent Brooks achieves those two goals - hopefully it shares some data when it becomes available.
As always, thank you for reading,
Momchil
