DALL·E an AI take on a realistic triathlon race scene

Hi,

I hope you are all well.

What was interesting in the business of running

Brooks Running had another record year in 2024, growing its revenues by 9% year on year with sales in China growing 228%. Brooks Running Clubs on Strava grew in the U.S. and Europe 165% and 346% respectively, while it maintained its leading market position in the performance running footwear market in the US (Brooks).

Garmin suffered a massive outage on a range of its devices, which has since been fixed. Here is the timeline and what to do if your device is one of those impacted (Tech Radar).

No doubt many Strava users can relate to the mentality of if it's not on Strava, it didn't happen (We Love Cycling). Strava has also announced the 10 participants in its Metro for Academic Researchers Program (Strava).

I am not sure whether this is some sort of a trend, but first New Balance (NY Times) and then Hoka (Runner's World) have announced a really hideous combination of a loafer and a running shoe... The "snoafer' or "Speed Loafer" in the case of Hoka.

And finally, a look inside Salomon, their headquarters, and design process in Annecy, France (Forbes) and the fastest growing brands on StockX (Retail Brew).

As always, thank you for reading,

Momchil
